Aw, weird! Blisterfish’s blisters are gone! What’s up with that?? How wacky!

Hey listen. I don’t think a lot of people read these things. But for those who do, I’m finally gonna be upfront about the mystery medical thing I’ve been alluding to. (I also have a little bit of good news at the end tho!)

Less than a month ago, at the beginning of April, I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. I immediately had a very intense open surgery to remove it, and it was a successful surgery for the most part, but I will need further testing and chemotherapy over the coming months. So, there, now you know. Obviously this is slowing down my drawing output. Like… a lot. In the last few days I’ve been able to draw a little bit, but prior to my diagnosis and subsequent surgery I was on track to start uploading Chapter 2 almost immediately– like, with one or two weeks’ delay at most–after Chapter 1 wraps up late this summer. Now it’s looking like I will have a bit more of a delay, maybe almost a month or more. I’m not excited about that. But I’m going to keep working as fast as I can without hindering my recovery.

Despite the setbacks, I am now posting Blisterfish on WEBTOONS!! If you have a WEBTOONS account or your friends have WEBTOONS you should go check it out!! I might regret doing that this early!! But I really want to get Chapter 1 rolling over there, so that’s what I am going to do. This also means I will be motivated to post fun illustrations and other stuff during any wait time between chapters, which will be fun for you all I hope.

So there’s the full update. And I would really appreciate it if any of you spread this comic– either the Facebook page link, this website, or the WEBTOONS link— to any friends you think might be interested. Because cancer or no cancer, I’m gonna keep this comic rolling as long as I can!

Thanks everybody, I hope you have a great week.
